Your setup is telling you that it does not like the stiffer reeds. Unless
there is some outside influence involved (like a band director who insists
every one play a XYZ brand #10 reed), why do you insist on moving up in
strength? The easy solution is obviously to stay with what was
working. Of course, if there are other issues, like intonation, involved,
then you probably need a new mouthpiece anyway, regardless of the reed
strength.

I know I have mentioned it before, but I have intonation issues with
Vandoren mouthpieces generally. I would advise trying something else, and
the Hite and Fobes models would be good places to start.
