It would be easy enough to try (knife and rubber gasket material from a
hardware store). From a theoretical point of view, do you want to add
vibration-absorbing material to your clarinet? (.....after you just
spent $100 on the ultimate ligature that allows 110% transmission of all
vibrations.... of course, if you use a hose clamp as your ligature, then
maybe a hose washer makes sense)
