Bill,

I agree...the articulated C#/G# does really screw up the long
high F, which is my preferred fingering for that note. The
Patricola instruments with the articulated C#/G# (which I have
on both of my instruments) can be turned off by the turn of a
screw. If I have a screw driver on hand, I can even do it
between movements of a symphony! I can leave it off for passages
that have a high F in it, and put if back on when that note
isn't needed. Doesn't work for Jazz improv, since you don't
necessarily know where the feeling is going to lead you, but a
good alternative to either having the articulated C#/G# or not.
