Where else can one use such a delicious word? Lacunae is plural for lacuna
which means "an empty space or gap". Benade uses this word in several of
his writings on woodwind bores. I did, however,avoid another favorite two
word phrase , "bore perturbation" (any change in the diameter of the bore).

Ah, the world of clarinet acoustics is rife with arcane poetry.
