Joe,

What about Nancy Buckman? She is in Arnold, MD, about 30 minutes
away, near Annapolis. I would think she would be a great person
to study with, although I have never met her. I can't wait until
next year when ClarinetFest is in her backyard, so we can meet!

If Nancy isn't available, might I suggest some other names...

I am not familiar with any of these teachers below. I did a
search on www.woodwind.org (where are Klarinet list is based)
and clicked on the "Research" link, which has a link on that
page for "Clarinet Teachers". I came up with 4 teachers in the
area; 1 at Catholic University in DC, 2 at Peabody Conservatory
in Baltimore, Maryland, and 1 in Richmond, Virginia. Here's the
results...

Sidney Forrest is at Levine School of Music
Catholic University of America in DC and his web link is here:

Steven Barta and Edward Palanker are both at Peabody
Conservatory in Baltomore, Maryland, which is an hour north of

VA, which is less than 2 hours south of DC and his e-mail
