Subj: [kl] An original joke <g>
Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 11:59:15 -0400

And the joke was on me: At band camp last week, after warm-up, I started to
tune the woodwinds. I noticed someone in the clarinets was quite out, and I
couldn't seem to find which one it was. (I should have smelled the
conspiracy by then.) I dragged over the monster tuner. Started top down,
with the pics. _Everybody_ was incredibly sharp. I mean, so sharp the
tenor saxes mpc was at the point of falling off. I then noticed the
snickering, got down -- almost on hands and knees, because the cart is so
short -- and finally discovered some joker had reset the tuner to A=416.
The culprit wouldn't confess, but I have my suspicions. <g>
