Some older saxes (1930's and before) had an alternate Eb, activated by
raising the middle finger of the right hand which opened a small tone hole
usually located on the left side of the body of the sax. Usually when you
find these old horns that key has been disabled, either temporarily or
permanently, since it often caused leakage problems (it is fully functional
on my old Conn C-melody). You are pretty much stuck for the low C,
however. Perhaps the C and Eb key touches are too far out of line with
each other, which a technician should be able to adjust. Often if the Eb
key causes the pad to rise too high (and thus the keytouch drop too low)
you can't get back to the C comfortably. Other than that, the rollers
should make that fingering do-able.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
