This depends on where you are (not geographically, but on the web). If =

have high-speed internet access, you should download more often - being =

won't necessarily get you more viruses, but will surely increase the =

I work at a company that is, for better or worse, ground zero for
hacker/virus attack. (That would be Microsoft). Our tech guys do a
terrific job keeping us safe, but with 50,000 employees all hooked into =
a
Really Big Pipe, occasionally bad stuff will get through.

There is an icon in my system tray (the little collection of stuff in =
the
lower right hand corner of your Windows screen) that signals when new =
virus
signatures are being downloaded. Some days it animates every hour or =
so.
If we desire to hook into the corporate network from home, we're =
required to
have the same burly anti-virus stuff on the home machine. Thankfully, =

never had a problem.
