Klarinet Archive - Posting 000800.txt from 2003/07
From: Thomson Les R <lthom106@-----.au> Subj: [kl] Assistance please . . . Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2003 19:07:10 -0400
A friend has a son sitting Grade 4 music examinations in the near future. As
part of the examiner's
request he is to prepare a brief biography on each of the composers he has
chosen for his clarinet
pieces.
We are at an absolute loss in relation to one composer . . .
Friedrich Denmitz or Demnitz Born Dresden Germany 1845 died 1890. He is,
apparently, known for
his clarinet music. There are a couple of instructional/practice pieces
available but that's about the
limit of our knowledge. A performance piece may be 'Clarinetten Schule' ? ?
? I believe he studied
at and may have later taught at the Dresden Conservatoire.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated by a very enthusiastic young
clarinet player. He is
currently part of his high school's excellence program and plays with the
Cairns Chamber Orchestra.
With thanks
