We always do a Christmas in July Concert with about half the pieces being holiday songs. We also have a kids concert where we play music the younger kids would know (ie Lion King etc.) We also play a simple march and let the kids come up front and "direct" the band. They line up in 10 rows in front of the band (that'show many batons we have) and our director has them change place after each strain (he blows a whistle to let them know). We play each strain about 3 times to get all the kids through. They seem to enjoy it.
