Enroll now for an exciting week of intensive clarinet masterclasses
with internationally renowned recording artist and conductor Jonathan
Cohler on the beautiful campus of the Longy School of Music just
outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Classes meet
daily from 10am to 3pm in Room 2 (The Wolfinsohn Room) of the main
building at Longy. The classes will cover a wide variety of topics
including:

Solo Repertoire
Orchestral Repertoire
Excercises/Etudes and Practice Regimens
Performance Practice
Reeds, Mouthpieces and other Equipment Issues
Circular Breathing
Double and Triple Tongueing
Intonation
How to Make a "Good" Sound
Playing with Style
Clarinet Ensemble Playing

Each student will have the opportunity to play in class several times
during the week. Each student may choose the solos, excerpts or
excercises that he or she would like to play. The format of the
classes will vary from day to day, with some being in a traditional
masterclass format and others in a format more like a seminar. We
will also do some playing as a group including duos, trios, quartets,
quintets and the like. If you play bass clarinet, Eb clarinet or any
of the other auxiliary clarinets, you are encouraged to bring the
instruments with you.
