Thanks Wendy. I'm thinking of next year, since it is already too late =
for
this year. I need to get those folks together during the winter months
-perhaps I can convince a few they could try some new reeds or =
mouthpieces
at the very least. I haven't been able to play my eefer much this =
summer
due to having to "carry" the parts on B flat. I sat in a different spot =
for
rehearsal this week and discovered just how much of some of the parts =
are
simply not being played and their sound is so incredibly weak. Of =
course,
on most nights, our brass section is so loud we can't hear ourselves =
think,
much less play anyway. Our woodwind section is simply too small-only 3
flutes on most nights this summer, 2 or 3 saxes, 1 bass clarinet, no =
oboes,
and about 9 clarinets. We won't even get into the numbers of trumpets =
and
trombones. =20
