So my choice would be a concerto (but not so virtuosic as some recent ones
have been) for clarinet and big band, which would include some serious
rhapsodic episodes in addition to some jazz, which would be in written form.
An improvisory section would also be included in written form, together with
chord symbols entered for an either/or choice to be made by the performer.
So my choice would be Quincy Jones.
Benny Goodman drawings could be inserted inbetween each movement with
"sleaze notes"!?!?
