Why? (Take a break, that is).

If you can't find time to play clarinet in college, there's no way that
you'll find time later on. Besides, even if you're not a music major,
you'll likely get great opportunities to play. "Free" lessons, too.
(They're not really free - if you paid tuition, you've already paid for
them, so may as well . . . )

Better just to neglect to quit.
