Yes. ClarFest is a place and venue to hear what is new out there. Of course
the same Brahms, Weber, Mozart gets old over and over again so hearing what
is new out there is a treat. I myself prefer Bartok over Mozart and
Corigliano over Weber but there are works which I hear and just shake my
head as having just heard organized noise. But of course 1 man's crap is
another mans fertilizer. I would rather hear a work and think afterwards
"wow, what a waste of effort" than to have never had the chance to
experience it.
