<<<Temp. Instructor Positions
School: Applied Music, West Chester University
Description:
Fall 2003 - Spring 2004
Instructor of Clarinet and Saxophone - to teach applied clarinet ,
saxophone, and single reed class. Artist level performer, masters
degree and/or commensurate experience required, previous teaching
experience at the university level preferred. >>>
With luck, the person getting this job will be as fine a teacher as one who
had it. Ted Hegvik retired from this post (and the on-call saxophoning for
the Philadelphia Orchestra, I'm told) to the beautiful, sunny Northwest.
. . . I have the privilege of sitting next to him every Monday night. For
whatever reason, Ted deigns to play bass clarinet with us low-lifes in the
Washington Wind Symphony. (I sit next to him, on Eb). He is perhaps the
single nicest guy I have ever met. I've never heard him miss a note - even
Daphnis and Chloe, when he helped my orchestra out last year. Amazing.
