Anne -

If Mr. Marcellus always applied his rule, he must have had one hell of a
time playing the 4, 5 & 6 sharp and flat, major and minor Kroepsch
exercises. Either that or he was extremely good at making the E - F#
interval smoothly and quickly.

After mastering these studies, I'll never again be frightened by the "high"
key signatures.

Thanks everybody. I was getting ready to forward the post written that
referred to Marcellus stating that the side fingering had only been
intended as a trill fingering and that the regular F# key should be used
most of the time. I was getting ready to forward it to the band
director, who is a very sweet man who I adore. But he is a trombonist. I
did forward him the one from Avi Rostov with a note that said "Oh
dear!".
Anyhow, I lost the Marcellus quote by accidentally erasing it. If
somebody still has it, could they possibly forward it back to me. ANNIE
