I also play a Series 10. I find it impossible to play ANY Vandoren
mouthpiece in tune on it, as they all go flat in the altissimo. Currently
I am using a Woodwind K10M (made by Leblanc) with much success. The
K-series comes in other facings as well, but the 10M is about medium-open
with a medium facing length (The also have S and L facings available, and
other numbers have bigger or smaller tip openings). I also have a Selmer
C85 115 that plays well on it, and an O'Brien crystal, etc. In short, I
don't believe you MUST use a Selmer mouthpiece to get the best results,
although you may be able to eliminate some brands as being INcompatible by
trial and error.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
