Can't help responding to your post (although much later since I'm "catching
up") I marched in the Purdue 'All-American' Marching Band at Notre Dame in
1979. That was the year Purdue beat ND and Rudi played (not at that
particular game)

We ALSO marched a new show every week with different choreography for the 30
twirlers, the 40 flags, the silver twins, the Girl in Black, the Golden Girl
and the Big Bass Drum crew.

I recently returned to Purdue and marched in the Alumni Band. It's not as
easy as I remembered! About the 3rd time down the field I couldn't even
breathe! Forget playing an instrument!

Sorry to ramble on, but just wondered if you happened to be at that game (I
was also at the game at Purdue the next year when Joe Montana played
quarterback for, I think, the first time)
