A word of advice... I'm not sure of MSM & Mannes, but credentials mean
everything to the Juilliard admissions committee if you want to consider
going there. It's not _just_ about your playing to them (or at least to the
people who have the power to admit you). Contrary to what one might think,
the faculty who actually hear you perform in an audition have no real power
to say who gets in and who doesn't... it's the admissions committee who
never hears you play. The admissions committees only go on the basis of
recommendations from the faculty and what they see on paper (i.e. your
application), but the admissions committee _will_ reject a top qualified
performer if the prerequisite credentials aren't in order.

Politics is an ugly game, but people have made it a fact of life, so you may
as well grab your cards and play along.
