I am reminded of two old sayings here.

The first is taught in medical schools: when you hear hoofbeats, think horses,
not zebras.

The second is Occam's Razor: all other things being equal, the simplest answer
is usually the correct one.

Kelly, I really think you are looking for zebras here. There are seven
absolutely consistent instances of this phenomona in this otherwise impeccably
engraved piece of music. This piece is FILLED with accidentals, and as you can
see in my scanned snippet, they very carefully mark each octave separately. I
find it entirely unreasonable to conclude that these are transcription errors.
