An Eb clarinet can definetly be herd over a band. The
downside to that is if you mess up every one knows it.
LOL. I bought a Vito Eb clarinet for $400 and it works
great. It did have some problems with key work after a
while but i had it repaired, the repairs did not cost
very much. I hope this helps.
