On the more than twenty-five mailing lists to which I subscribe, I'm
constantly amazed by the number of people who inadvertently send replies
to the list, when the content is obviously meant to be private.

How many of us would mail a letter without seeing that it was addressed
to the person we intend to read it? Yet many people send e-mail
messages without looking in the "TO" field to see what address or
addresses are there.
