For what it's worth, a moderated list was attempted once before - as far as
I know the list address still exists. There was little or no traffic on it,
most or all of which was duplicated on the unmoderated Klarinet (the list is
not "no limits" because of the way Mark moderates it, as Paul's post
suggests - it isn't moderated at all, as Mark has tried on a number of
occasions to point out). The moderated list either died of malnutrition or
still lives as an empty mailbox (probably only Mark knows). Mark apparently
has no interest in being a list moderator, or he would simply offer to
moderate the new list himself. I for one don't think a moderated list is
needed or would fare any better than the last one unless the climate has
changed more drastically than I think it has.

Since it was apparently brought up with Mark, I guess he needs to try at
least to check the level of interest. My vote, Mark, (again, for what it's
worth) is - don't waste the effort. With a working delete key on each of our
keyboards and a little suppression on everyone's part of the need to have
the last word (no matter how clever and snappy) on any given subject, this
one will continue to work well enough as it is.
