My children will "sing along" with my etudes, and I've even heard them
humming scales! Of course, they don't pretend to like it, but perhaps in
another 20 years they may come back to it, just like their mother did. (I
grew up hearing my father play the clarinet, and his Artie Shaw and Benny
Goodman records)
