Christy,
My 9th grade year we had a fresh out of grad school teacher. He did not do a
lot with marching but he drove us hard on technique. we did at least 45
minutes one-on-one every week. he graded us hard. we played scales, scales
and more scales and then some drills. I actually learned alot and enjoyed
doing so. Then he went the way of all good teachers. He left our public
school and went to a private school somewhere. We then got a new teacher out
of teachers college. The second guy tried hard and did a pretty good job
considering that our school was small and backward. (grad class 95 person).
He could not touch the 9th grade teacher. I often wish that I could find out
where Me. Rinaldo (sp)went. What a difference. I might have learned as much
the next 3 years as I learned the 1st year. We did have a good time though.
