I just saw it last night (hence my slow reply) and enjoyed movie and music
but I thought it was a contra doing the solos. It's interesting that the
usual formulaic use of the bass clarinet in movie music is for the scary
parts ("Don't look behind that door -- she's going to open the door -- Oh
No! AAARRGGHH!!"), but in _Respiro_ the low clarinet was , I thought, adding
to the sense of wonder, or perhaps uncertainty.

Should have demanded your money back -- they don't charge enough at movie
theters to let you see the whole movie?
