About every three years the Los Angeles Times runs an article about the
nasty twenty-foot- tall giant that threatens the birds and fish in some of
the park streams in Southern California. (There was a professor of oboe at
UC San Diego who, at one time, took trusted colleagues to search out the
best specimens of this noxious weed.) Is it Arundo donax that is causing
much of the hostility on the list? Could there be, in just short of three
hundred years, the development of poisoning from boxwood, granadilla,
rosewood or cocobola....or cork grease.... or bore oil.... or smog
inhalation? One could hope for a secession of all the road rage here. The
repetitious practice of scales is much the same as chanting a mantra. Dr.
Herbert Benson, Harvard Cardiologist, recommends the repetition of mantras,
to relieve stress.
It also would be nice for the personal response to go to the one person for
whom it is intended instead of spamming the disinterested. Some people spend
so much time at this website that they will not spare the time to place the
address of the one who may be interested, in place of the cop out to just
reply to the list. !Que lastima! Those who insist on displaying their
lingerie on the klarinet clothes line, give us the dubious pleasure of
having to delete ad nauseum not only at home but on the computer in the
office. Alas my attempts to block offenders of the office instrument has not
been successful.
