Interesting that you bring up Maynard... I worked with that band a =
couple
years back and they basically work like a rock act. When you go to a =
rock
concert with a group that is touring, they bring all their own leads- =
sound,
lights, etc... And their own systems. If they use the "house" system, =
their
person tweaks it as needed to make the show work.

Maynard worked the same way. His people came in early and did the sound
check for him. They refused to do certain things that we needed (it was
part of a festival). The sound check was even "rockish" as they'd go up =
to
a mic and shout "ONE! TWO! CHECK! ONE! TWO!" The mix in the concert was
very good, but it (like rock) was very loud. The decibel meter at the =
mix
position registered over 100dB. Too bad the people that worked with him
were a bunch of a$$ho!es. Otherwise it would have been a very pleasant
experience. =20

The band was amazing- tight as can be. The audience was going =
absolutely
nuts with the energy in the room.
