THIS IS (SORT OF) OFF TOPIC. PLEASE HIT DELETE NOW IF NOT CURIOUS : D

I would like to transfer the videos of my recitals to DVD, using a computer
DVD burner THAT I DON'T YET OWN. I would like to start digitizing the
tapes NOW though, to save time. I have a Creative Video Blaster
Moviemaker. It gives me the following record choices:

Video:
1. MPEG1, with a choice of .50 MBits/s to 2.00 MBits/s
2. MPEG2, with a choice of 1.00 MBits/s to 6 MBits/s
3. VCD, with a preset 1.15 MBits/s

Audio:
A choice of 192 or 224 KBits/s in all modes.

Does anyone know if there is a REQUIRED format for the DVD burner. I would
hate do digitize all those files only to find they cannot be
burned. Perhaps an off-list reply might be kinder to the list.

Thanks in advance.

Fred

LEGITIMIZING STATEMENT:

Is it bad Karma to use a large bore barrel on a small bore clarinet? Would
it hurt tuning or tone? The reason I ask is that I bought a Jimmy Yan
barrel and although the tone is great, the open g and a few notes below it
became quite flat.

Fred
