I'd also recommend clarinet players take a look at
Arban's trumpet method. Out of all the method books
I've seen for clarinet and other instruments, Arban
has the largest compilation of melodic material (opera
themes, dance forms) in solo and duet form. And the
technical material covers ground in different ways
than you find in books conceived for the clarinet.

Another good bit of cross-training on books for the
wrong instrument is some of Sevcik's studies for
the violin. The close interval patterns work the
fingers in more ways than are even found in the
Klose mechanical exercises. And the long list of different
articulations that can be applied to each exercise
open a wind player's mind to more possibilities that
arise more naturally on a bowed instrument.
