I have no anecdotes of the Allentown band. I only played with them a
short time because my company transferred me to New York. The only
Sousa band member I knew well was the trumpet/cornet teacher at the
University of Arizona. He was trumpet soloist with Sousa and then
formed his own band. He also left his entire estate to the Univ. of
Arizona and I have forgotten his name. Now it's my turn to lose my
memory. I think it was Frank Simon. Does that ring a bell?
