Sorry Bill. Yes there are extremists in every crowd but asking a
left-handed person to conduct a beat pattern with their right hand, if =
that
is not comfortable, is definitely asking them to go far more than =
halfway.
Unfortunately it does take extremes to "even the score" sometimes and =
this
has been evident throughout history. Don't you remember sailing across =
the
ocean to get away from religious oppression and dumping all that tea in =
the
Boston Harbor? It took the Civil War to free the slaves and poor Rosa =
Parks
still had to have herself arrested in 1955 to start the Civil Rights
Movement. Things wouldn't have to be so difficult if the "other half" =
would
simply make some concessions and accommodations more often. The =
conducting
teacher who insists a student learn to conduct a beat pattern with their
right hand sounds like more of a control freak to me than a teacher. =
