I had a student a few years ago who used a Pyne mouthpiece. She was always
having trouble finding reeds for it. She tried everything and then
switched to a Hite. She loved her Pyne and still has it. If she can find
a reed to play on it (most often Rico Grand Concert, # 3.5), she will use
it. If not, then she switches to the Hite. It doesn't seem to bother her,
carrying all the extra stuff with her. She uses a Bonade ligature on her
Pyne and a BG Super Revelation on her Hite. She has all these different
boxes of reeds too (Gonzales, Mitchell Lurie, V-12s, Zonda.....).
