In Theresienstadt there were several composers. The music written there,
that which has survived, has been recorded. One of them is the opera
"Brundibar." Find that on the web and you will find a good deal about
holocaust musicans. I know people who were at the perforances of
Brundibar when it was done in Theresianstadt. If you want the email of
one of them, who now lives in Israel, contact me privately.

One of the conductors was Karel Ancerl who survived and conducted the
Toronto symphony. The story goes that he was preparing a performance of
Beethoven 9, and the entire chorus was taken away and killed. He had to
replace the entire group. Can you imagine such madness?
