How about the Pianist. Just came out this past year. It's about A Polish,
Jewish Pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman who lived, through amazing luck
(certainly I don't consider it lucky that he had to experience what he did.
I mean that the luck is that he made it through alive) through the
holocaust. He was, at the time, about 30 and accredited as one of the best
pianists in Poland, if not THE best. I watched it last week. I loved it
so much that I broke my own rule and watched it twice. (I try not to
overwatch good movies). It won best director for Roman Polanski and "The
film's star, Adrien Brody, won the Best Actor Oscar, and he gave the award
acceptance performance of a lifetime." [movies.com].
