Gary, the most recent of those threads happened, I believe last summer.
That is where Mr. Galper posted the link to the picture of the right
hand in the upper joint/left in the lower joint clarinet.
Being primarily left handed, somehow, it didn't help me at all, since my
problems with the instrument when first learning were more concerned
with embouchure and tongue position. That said, I mentioned in another
post my curiosity concerning the history of the development of placement
of the hands on woodwind instruments and when that became standardized.
Probably a matter for woodwind curators and other music historians.
