Even in jazz playing, I use vibrato sparingly, with my Vandoren M-30
mouthpiece, which is supposed to be a cross between a B45 and a 5VR,
according to Jon Manasse. It works beautifully for playing with vibrato
and also helps me produce the type of tone that I like for playing
classical music. I don't dare use any "adverbs" to describe the tone.
You can go to my website to hear the type of tone that I produce.
