Gonzalez FOF 3.5 on an early 1970's Vandoren crystal, or Gonzalez 3.75 on an
original Ch. Chedeville, Fobes or Borbeck.

I have to mention that after using Vandoren reeds for more than 30 years I
said good-bye to them when about two years ago the "powers that be" decided
to change the tip shape. That fact, along with the apparent decline in their
cane quality (sparse fibers which don't even extend to the tip, miscuts,
green cane, etc...) over the past few years was enough to finally change
off them for good.

Perhaps when some of their newer cane fields are ready to meet their present
demand, and Vandoren decides to not use cane which many years ago would have
been discarded, I will retry their reeds.
