I started on clarinet while a trumpet player in Germany with the 3rd Armored
Division....not exactly the guard house, but at times a similar feeling!
Acker's hit recording broke records at the time for weeks at the top. Like
I said, some people obviously enjoyed it and in the final analysis isn't
that what it's all about? Playing for yourself alone brings some
satisfaction; of course, but most of us, I believe, enjoy playing for others
and hopefully seeing them enjoy it.
