I'm going to try to get together with four other winds and a pianist on the
21st to do some wood shedding on the Breton sextet. I think I've
undertaken something a bit too ambitious for the amateur crowd. Although
everyone has promised attendance, I have my fingers crossed. If just one
person doesn't show, I'm going to forget about the world premiere
performance. I'll put the four movements on my web site and go on to other
things.

I meet with a wind quintet every other week around 4:30 pm and the
bassoonist feeds us all at 6:30. It works quite well. Everyone always
shows up. If the 21st is a wash I may try one more time with the pianist
recommended by the bassoonist who feeds us and the quintet she feeds, then
I'll put it on the Web. I ought not to have come up with such a silly
idea. I've had to put some other projects on hold because of trying to get
people to play this unpublished sextet. It's just about as satisfying
playing it with computer accompaniment. The other players always show up,
day or night, they play perfectly and their price is right!
