For my fall semester recital i'm doing the Nielsen (with side drum), Brahms
Eb, and possibly a small unaccompanied piece or Montsalvatge's
Self-Parafrasis. For my spring recital, I'm planning an all chamber music
program (largely because my pianist is expensive and i couldn't afford to
pay him plus other musicians) . I tend to gravitate towards underperformed
(sometimes virtually unknown) works, or works for less common
instrumentations.

As my school has a couple of good percussionists i was considering a work
for clarinet and one or two percussionists. My knowledge of such works is
severely limited. Eb, Bb/A, or Bass are all fine. For sure on the
program is Han Gál's Serenade for cl., violin and cello. And possibly, for
soprano and cl., either Seiber's Drei Morgensternlieder or Jacob's Three
Songs. Something around 10 minutes give or take would be great.

A wonderfull piece for clarinet and percussion is:
Burges, David: Sources III.
In this work you also must be able a bit to act: you have to light candles
and blow them out, you must act as if something went wrong and are angry
with each other and so on. Unfortunately I do not know where it has been
edited.

I know this work, because our band in Maartensdijk some ten years ago had a
conductor, that had her diploma for windbandconducting, and in the period
she conducted our orchestra she had her examination for percussion. She
played it together with another young woman, who afterwards was a teacher of
mine. She gave me the part? score? I tried to play it, but ten years ago it
still was too difficult for me. Maybe now I could play it, recently I
studied Messiaen "Abîme des oiseaux" and Stockhausen's "In Freundschaft".
but I haven'tgot it anymore, alas, to break my fingers on it.

Good luck
