When I was looking at Buffets I tried both an r-13 and a greenline
r-13. I sounded exactly the same (to my ears) on both. Both very nice
instruments. The greenline would have been my pick if I didn't fall in
love with the sound that the Selmer Signature had. I actually bugged a
lot of my friends to listen to me play because I was secretly hoping
that the greenline would win out.

I bought the Selmer (one week ago yesterday in fact) based on the tone,
the extra key and the fact the it played in tune across the instrument.
The other clarinets were good in all these respects (i can always add
the key, right?) but i had to do more work to keep them in tune.

But, greenlines don't crack. And if anyone had picked the buffet sound
I would have gone with the greenline no questions.
