I know you're only trying to make trouble :-), but I've never heard of a
jazzer using the A clarinet. I have wished for an alto saxophone in D (and
differently transposed charts to match) to follow some of the vocal charts
in my band that read like the key of B on an Eb alto...

or would that be violating the intentions of the original jazz band
arrangers?
