Subj: [kl] Reed soaking question - ex-chemist responds

>>Surely we all use distilled water to avoid these random ions affecting =
the tone that we produce

Are these ions the same as 'free radicals' . Maybe we should be adding =
a little vitamine C or selenium to the soaking solution. =20

Come to think of it, putting those reeds in your mouth can't be any good =
for them at all. Instead of soaking, maybe we should shrink wrap our =
reeds and keep them in the freezer at all times. Tony -- that reed is =
only a crutch. Get rid of it and just hum into the mouthpiece.

cheers
