Much of this kind of thing started out as duets for two strings, but as Dan
L. said, you would definitely need a number like K587, K622, ... to be able
to start investigating its true background. There are enough Mozart
bibliographies out there that if you knew the true number, you'd find it
very quickly for most of his pieces.
