I DIDN'T SNIP this message on purpose to prove a point...and
there have been other messages since this one that go past the
point this one jabs at.

The original question did VAGUELY apply to clarinet since it was
a ClarinetFest question, but the direction this conversation
took has gotten a little out of hand. I am very much a
fun-loving guy, and NOT a prude, BUT...

I am not Mormon, but can visualize a major problem here when I
see it. Multiple cracks about being Mormon have come up, and
while the list people posting the cracks find it funny, you
wouldn't necessarily find it funny if you WERE Mormon. I'm not
saying we should have Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Episcopal,
Buddhist, Hindu, etc, jokes to counter the effect. What I am
saying is that jokes about people's religion is not appropriate
for the list. It comes in the same category as jokes of ethnic
origin, gender, etc... I don't think it is really appropriate
anywhere, but definitely not in a forum such as this.

I am sure there are Mormons on this list who are not pleased at
this, but are not posting a rebuttal because they don't want to
be perceived as not "good sports." People can be hurt through
e-mails such as these, and we don't realize it, since we don't
see the faces of the silent 75% of this list that do NOT post.

Please, let's get back to clarinet posting before someone is
REALLY offended and there is something posted that can't be
retracted.

As far as the beer laws in Utah go, here is a link so we can
STOP talking about it...

http://www.alcbev.state.ut.us/Liquor_Laws/liquor_laws_affecting_visitors.html

And here is a story about the REVISED liquor laws from Feb
2003...

http://newsnet.byu.edu/story.cfm/42511

By the way, it took me *30 seconds* to use a search engine
(google.com in my case) to find out these things, as I really
don't care, since I am unable to get off the weekend to go to
Utah for ClarinetFest :-( (whine, moan, sniffle)

Now, back to the regularly scheduled clarinet blab...
