Coughing up blood (especially incrasing amounts as you describe) is a
MEDICAL EMERGENCY and its cause needs to be investigated. It would not
be out of line to head to your local Emergency Department (Room).

Hello fellow Klarineteers,

After having a horrid cold for about a week and durring a long night of
"Pomp and Circumstance" I started coughing up blood. It started with
little
droplettes, but the amounts I cough keep increasing. I don't know what
is
causing this, but I don't think playing my clarinet is helping. I'm not
sure
what to do, but seeing a doctor is out of the question for various
reasons.

The question I have is whether playing the clarinet can worsen this? And

should I take a break and see if I stop coughing up blood? Or will it
really
make a difference?

Thanks,

-Jane
