Douglas Sears has asked me to explain the story behind the piano chord in the Stravinsky?

The CD was being produced to coincide with a recital I was giving at the Purcell Room, South Bank, London. This is a big deal in England, and we wanted to release the CD on the same evening as the hall was well attended.

Due to the time pressures the engineer was working on the CD very late 2-3AM.
He did not notice the single piano chord somehow cut from a different work left on his software. Coincidentally when the mastering was being done the producer was distracted by a number of CDs falling over at the precise time of the piano chord.

To say I was disappointed at the time, is an underestimate. It seems that in spite of the mistake, people have not been put off the CD. Sometimes bad things that happen can work good in the long run, so I decided to use the CD's for marketing. When they run out the next run of CD's won't have the piano chord.

Within the last two days I have been asked for over 130 CD's. If anybody else wants one they may still put in a request.

If anybody would like to sponsor my next CD please get in touch.

Kind regards
Martin Powell
