I have yet to find a Vandoren mouthpiece (5RV, B44, B45, B46 tried so far)
that did not play very flat for me in the altissimo register, although I
LIKE the sound of them. Currently I am using a B46 when I play my old
Selmer BT, which otherwise has a horrendously SHARP altissimo, but is
perfectly and easily right IN TUNE with the Vandoren! The B46 also has a
particularly strong bottom end. It is otherwise very similar to the B45.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
